Networking Events

In addition to our annual meeting in Durham, 2024 we organised a one off RAPS sponsored Networking event in Rothwell, Leeds on Wednesday the 17th of April 2024.

This one day, free to attend, networking event will include a talk from an established PI/industrial scientist, short flash presentation pitches from all attendees, and plenty of opportunities for networking. At the end of the session there will be a Beer Tasting Session sponsored by Rothwell Beer Festival.

Confirmed speakers for the network event include;

Molecularly Imprinted Polymers: Nanoscale Biomimetics

Professor Turner's research interests lie in the field of molecular recognition, and in particular the development of artificial recognition elements. Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIP) are a simple elegant biomimetic technology where recognition sites, analogous to the binding sites of antibodies, enzymes and receptors are created in polymeric materials containing complementary functionality to a target molecule. After preparation cavities that are complementary to the shape and chemical profile of the target are formed allowing specific recognition and rebinding.

Virtual Seminar Series

In the absence of our annual conference, we hosted the first RAPS virtual seminar on Wednesday 2nd September 2020

This seminar included a talk from an established PI/industrial scientist, a new PI/industrial scientist and a PDRA, and an opportunity for networking.

The speakers for the inaugural seminar were;
